Very rarely do we cover what forums Private Investors should sign up to. But I must say that I have been sneaking onto the Proactive Investor pages more and more over the last 12 months or so. The site was founded by Ian Mclelland in 2006 as a way to channel his own views on companies listed in London and Toronto. What started as a hobby for Mclelland has quickly turned into a full-time job as the website’s subscription base began to explode. “One2One forums were added later in 2006, and within two years the company had expanded its operations into Canada and Australia. In 2009 the company expanded again, into Germany and Hong Kong, and finally in 2010 the company opened an office in New York.Proactiveinvestors are now one of the fastest growing global financial media organisations in the world receiving more than one million visitors per month, with … read more
We get an awful lot of emails asking among other things if there are any companys that Private Investors could research and check out.
If there’s one that I am certainly watching it’s Petroneft Resource which I personally think has been hugely over-cooked by the doom and gloom soothe-sayers, bearing in mind that they are actually producing 2500 bopd and will certainly add to the bopd this year/early next year. Disappointment among brokers and privateers regarding missed bopd targets coupled with the prevailing Global uncertainty has certainly added to the fall. However I like the company and urge readers to watch-list and research.
Viva!

It’s been a fantastic few months for Sefton Resources with the share-price at one point virtually quadrupling. Todays AGM looks likely to set the tone for the coming weeks/months ahead. Sefton as well as having a safe pair of hands on the (Jim Ellerton) tiller are now learning the value of Investor Relations. (Take note mta) Their team is headed up by a Dr Micheal Green who rumour has it has been banging on about the potential of Sefton to any one and everyone in the City who can spare 5 minutes for an ear-bashing! Dr Green is relentless whether it be by telephone, luncheon, or email the Doctor gets the company message out. And that message is this. Sefton resources are currently an under-valued oil exploration/production company, 2010 progressed very well. The strategy to maximise revenues from existing oil-producing assets in California has gone well Sefton have also made strategic … read more
It’s an absolute disgrace! Leed petroleum Private Investors have been completely wiped out first by the old Board of Directors who took a company that was trading at levels higher than some Footsie 100 companys several years ago down to a few pence while all on the Board pocketed literally millions in pay and expenses over a five-year period. The company has been run into the ground, promises and false dawns aplenty along the way with statements that at the time were giving upbeat assessments of their potential. How can private Investors genuinely invest and research when the company is riddled and rotten. Private Investors rely on the London Stock Exchange RNS news service that is supposed to release honest company news updates, Brokerages are supposed to release notes that are genuinely based on thorough research but all too often they go hand in glove with the company masking news … read more
I can now report that Matra Petroleums’ current operation is well underway and proceeding as of 1pm today with NO problems. This is why the sp is on a charge. There are currently NO operational problems on the site. The packer is rumoured to be below the leak and pressure testing is thought to be on-going. This is to ascertain what the problem is and where it is located in the casing. Apparently according to our Schlumberger contact if the packer goes below the leak the company can isolate and pump the oil through the tubing. There are several remedies available to Matra depending on what they extrapolate from the data. This is a bread & butter operation in this region which is literally littered with workover rigs through-out the area it is a common problem. Looks like we could have some news within the next week or two, depending … read more
